On Bernie’s point, good advice. I do think that all hoteliers are amenable to discounting though if we haggle: perhaps 50% off all beverages? It’s time for all of us to haggle!

I’ll be surprised if you can get a venue to donate coffee or tea. In Cork and Limerick, it’s pay-as-you-go. It’s more important to set a regular venue and time and to try to observe the meeting time like a bus schedule. It’s also important to get a critical mass of supporters. I don’t think it’s viable unless at least six people say they’re interested in attending. Six interested gets you four attending, in my experience.
