What is the Open Coffee Club all about?

It is an attempt to establish recognized, open and regular meeting places where entrepreneurs can meet with investors (and anyone else who fancies coming along) in a totally informal setting. The key is a regular place and a regular time - it's not important who comes along, some days it might be no one - just that people know if they want to meet, this is the time and this is the place.

Tomorrow’s meeting called off

Tomorrow’s (Wednesday) meeting of the Mayo Open Coffee Club has been called off – sorry about the late notice. Please advise anyone you know who may have been planning to come along.

We will be in touch soon with details of next month’s meeting.

Why was this meeting called off ?
MOCC has always run once a month (twice in the early days).
This is supposed to be an open coffee club, where people come and interact. If the meeting was called off because there’s no speaker, then, in my opinion, that’s not a good enough reason.

    Hello Barry,
It was called off because Maria, Robert, and I couldn’t be there, and we had no guest speaker. All of this only came to light in the last few days. We were trying to patch something together until Tuesday evening.
I suppose we could have let it run anyway, and maybe we should have. But equally we didn’t want to be responsible for bringing people a long distance only for nothing much to happen. It was a judgment call and maybe we made the wrong one.
    Thanks
    Liam
