“No politician is going to get us out of this…”
“… it is the small businesses and people like you and me that are going to make the change”, was the unanimous belief of all those who attended the last Mayo Open Coffee Club in the McWilliam Park Hotel in Claremorris.
Unfortunately only a few attended the 5th Meeting of the MOCC and we were only able to welcome Ger Brady, who runs the CityLocal.ie for Mayo, as well as David Glynn from the Hotel itself as new faces to our two-weekly meetings. The setting in the McWilliam Park Hotel was luxurious and exclusive and we were very well looked after. Thank you David!
The main topic of discussion was: “How can we attract more people?” – Ideas that were brought up ranged from rather quirky ideas like Liam appearing at our next meetings in a clowns costume to do some entertaining as the Mayo Open Coffee Clown to organising special events like a “Home Workers Day” or “MOCC Business Dinners”.
Unfortunately we had no local visitors from Claremorris, so the the final conclusion: “We need to get more attention, as networking is real fun and good for your business too”. To drive this discussion we decided to create a discussion mailing list, who everyone is free to join who is interested in playing a more active part of the Mayo Open Coffee Club. We will be announcing new activities and ideas in the days and weeks to come, so to keep yourself up to date, you should subscribe to our RSS Feed.
The winner of the Free Dinner was decided to be the ones with the furthest way to travel to this Meeting – Thanks Liam
