What is the Open Coffee Club all about?

It is an attempt to establish recognized, open and regular meeting places where entrepreneurs can meet with investors (and anyone else who fancies coming along) in a totally informal setting. The key is a regular place and a regular time - it's not important who comes along, some days it might be no one - just that people know if they want to meet, this is the time and this is the place.

New and Old Faces – Regulars and Newbies

Thank you to all who attended the 3rd Mayo Open Coffee Club today! It was good to see some known faces again, as it showed me that there is an ongoing interest in having a regular meeting and people do not get bored. One reason for that is certainly that new people keep coming in. So far we attracted 29 people and I hope there will be more even more at future meetings.

I was a bit worried over the last few days, that today’s meeting might not attract that many people. But this was probably due to the lack of feedback on this page. So for the future, I would appreciate, if you left a comment in this blog if you plan to attend. This will give others some information about who is coming and might attract even more entrepreneurs and hopefully some investors as well.

New Faces

Today we were happy to see some new faces too:

Topics discussed today (at least those I overheard):

  • Service attitudes of irish companies, bad e-mail response times, how to improve service levels.
  • Starting a organic brand in Ireland / the West / Mayo. Is there a market for having food delivered to your door?
  • Knock Airport, low-cost airlines, tumbling passenger figures
  • and of course: Twitter

Did I forget anything? Please leave a comment or a trackback from your blog, thank you!
