What is the Open Coffee Club all about?

It is an attempt to establish recognized, open and regular meeting places where entrepreneurs can meet with investors (and anyone else who fancies coming along) in a totally informal setting. The key is a regular place and a regular time - it's not important who comes along, some days it might be no one - just that people know if they want to meet, this is the time and this is the place.

Fresh Organising Power / Poll Results

Beeing back from Germany after two busy weeks I am catching up on all things that happend. This morning I talked to Liam Horan from Sli Nua Training and he has agreed to join me as organiser of the Mayo Open Coffee Club – Thank you Liam!

Liam has some press background, so he will be dealing with the offline world, while I will do my best and spread the word digitally, not saying that Liam might not drop a post in this blog here and there. Another great advantage is that, beeing based in Ballinrobe, he can cover the southeast, while I will focus on the west of our County.

Our poll for the question “Should the Mayo Open Coffee Club meet in different venues all over the County?” showed a 50% majority for the “Yes, four locations in the four corners of the County would be great”-Answer. We will stick to that and choose four location that will cover the county, without moving into to remote and small little villages. So far we decided on Claremorris for the south-east. Mulranny will probably cover the west, Belmullet or Bangor the north(-west) and Charlestown the east. We might throw in Ballina as quite an important location, too. If you have any other propositions, let us know.
