First Mayo Open Coffee Club was a great success
As far as I am concerned, I am very happy with the success of our first meeting. I came in a bit early to set myself up, as I wanted to broadcast/have the meeting in an online conference. Unfortunately there was no WiFi in the Pub, so we had to move to the study, which turned out to be a good idea. The online conferencing system didn’t really work out either, so for the next time I will have to find another solution.
Dispite all that it was great to meet so many nice people and I am looking forward to our next MOCC. But see for yourself and leave a comment.

Thanks for a good event.
Good job Chris, very worthwhile and looking forward to future meetings. I keep changing my mind about the venue issue but have voted for ‘always Castlebar’ (It’s central and I’m not sure I’d want to drive much farther than that) but if not that then I’d go for the ‘four corners’ option.
Well done, Chris: enjoyed the stimulating company and the diligence you bring to making mOCC happen. I’m torn on the location question and take Al’s point about the cenrality of Castlebar. (As I mentioned, I am unlikely to make it to meetings beyond Castlebar and Westport).
On the other hand, mindful of entrepeneurs in more rural parts, the ‘Four Corners’ strategy might be pursued?
Torn, as I say.
Hi Chris, and people.
Just writing to congratulate Chris for the great organisation of the event and indeed everyone who intended for making the first of the event so successful. I had a really enjoyable time, and thanks to everyone for welcoming me with open arms. Defo an event I’d recommend people from around the county to attend.
It was great to talk to the people and for the two hours I was there, I had very interesting conversations with most of the other people there and I’ll try my best to attend again very soon.
It’s a two-coined approach really. Do you do as other clubs have done and have a standard location, or do you travel around. I personally think it should be done on a rotational basis. One big in in Castlebar regularly and then visit the small areas in between. That would be my opinion on it anyway.
