One idea that has been floated around over the last few Coffee Club meetings has been to hold a casual summer barbeque for members, old, new and not yet.
A few possible locations have been mentioned. Do you have any suggestions? Would you come along? Share your thoughts by commenting.

cmypitch is a very intereting concept in which entrepreneurs connect with investors through the means of video pitches. It seems to be serious operator with endorsements from the likes of Eddie Jordan (F1), Philip Lynch (IAWS, One51), Patrick Brazel (former Chairman of Irish Software Association), James Morris (Windmill Lane, TV3), Tony Kilduff (Kindle).
Partners also include: Bank of Scotland (Ireland), Deloitte, The Irish Times, Microsoft and William Fry. So if you are looking for funding, this seems to be a good opportunity.

I just recieved this eMail from Heather James, one of the organisers of the Sligo Open Coffee Club. As it covers our area as well, I will just post the eMail as is here:
At the most recent Open Coffee Sligo meeting, the conversation turned to the inevitable: many events happening in Dublin… why not in the North west? Soon we had the makings of a two day event which can showcase the best, brightest, most inspiring and positive things happening in the northwest region. As Fergus (Cosy Stoves) said, “People don’t realise what is going on their own backyard.”
Aidan McKenna (Healthcare Rates) came up with the name North West Connects, suggesting we can make connections from business to business to community to arts. There are lots of people doing great things: starting companies, offering services, doing good things in the community and we need a chance to showcase these. We liked the user-generated BizCamp structure and approach, but through discussion we wanted to expand out, beyond just business to include community, education/training, arts, and so on.

The 10th Mayo Open Coffee Club was held yesterday in Belmullet, in North West Mayo. Barry Murphy from Pure Sales in Castlebar gave us a presentation on honing your sales technique to ensure success.
Barry brought us back to basics with his focus on the importance of clear, concise communication, and gave us all something to think about with his self-evaluation exercises. Some of the conversation topics included: the importance of having a clear sales message, communicating directly to your target market and getting value from radio advertising. If anyone is interested in getting a copy of Barry’s presentation, his contact details are available on his website www.puresales.ie
We had ten attendees this week and those who were attending for the first time included:
If anyone has any other comments or contributions from yesterday’s meeting, they are all welcome.
